Ashby stock farm, equestrian center

About

The Ashby Stock Farm located in Ashby, Ma. is set on 249 acres, and has a rich heritage amongst New England farms, once a thriving dairy farm and today a premier equestrian center with a Dressage focus.

Our story began in 1987 when Jason met Georgette taking his first Hunter/Jumper lesson from her. Since then we have raised a family, traveled the world (often horse related),  met many wonderful people, and shared many fabulous meals (yes, we are foodies too), and now our next chapter begins.

The Stock Farm is our home, and together we run the business with the help of an excellent team. Georgette takes the lead on all Horse related matters, as does Jason for the Farm.

Our vision is to create a place where our boarders want to come and spend time as  “part of the family” knowing we are here to help you achieve your goals, and of course provide the utmost of care for our four legged family.

We look forward to meeting you,

Jason & Georgette

Rebecca Eccard – Trainer

Rebecca’s love for riding started as a little girl, she was lucky enough to learn under the direction of Mason Grey and his daughter Jude of Hopkinton, RI. It was in the quite moments watching Jude and her father start horses that she learned to appreciate what riding and working horses actually means.

Rebecca started training and showing Friesians in 2007 after a chance meeting with friesian owner and designer Dianne Dakowicz. She has had a tremendous amount of success in the pleasure arena both under saddle and in carriage. And although she lives to show the Friesians to the world, Keuring preperation is actually her favorite training job. Rebecca has successfully presented 3 stallions to receive their Ster status. She has also had good results with re-presenting horses  for Ster or Upgrade like Liske E whom Rebecca took for her 4th time and she received her Ster Status completing her papers.

After enjoying the breed in these disciplines Rebecca decided to accept an opportunity to learn more about the sport of dressage. Her love of allowing the horses to have a natural movement and the ability to continue a horse’s training up the levels. Rebecca enjoys being able to offer her clients many different options for training goals for their horses.

While mostly known for her success with the Friesian Bred, Rebecca has also worked with and trained Gypsy, Warmblood and Stock  horses. Some of these amazing horses were trained for competition, while others were trained for their owners to campaign or enjoy at home.

Rebecca enjoys working with horses to make them the very best they can be. Her training program is based on the goals of each individual horse and owner.
