Training
At the Ashby Equestrian center we believe it is important to meet with prospective boarders to discuss your goals, and needs for you and your horse. After discussion with you, and meeting your horse we will suggest a plan that may include some combination of training and lessons as appropriate to best meet your needs.
Rebecca Eccard
Rebecca’s love for riding started as a little girl, she was lucky enough to learn under the direction of Mason Gray and his daughter Jude of Hopkinton, RI. It was in the quiet moments watching Jude and her father start horses that she learned to appreciate what riding and working horses actually means.
Rebecca started training and showing Friesians in 2007 after a chance meeting with friesian owner and designer Dianne Dakowicz. She has had a tremendous amount of success in the pleasure arena both under saddle and in carriage. And although she lives to show the Friesians to the world, Keuring preparation is actually her favorite training job. Rebecca has successfully presented 3 stallions to receive their Ster status. She has also had good results with re-presenting horses for Ster or Upgrade like Liske E whom Rebecca took for her 4th time and she received her Ster Status completing her papers.
After enjoying the breed in these disciplines Rebecca decided to accept an opportunity to learn more about the sport of dressage. Her love of allowing the horses to have a natural movement and the ability to continue a horse’s training up the levels. Rebecca enjoys being able to offer her clients many different options for training goals for their horses.
While mostly known for her success with the Friesian Bred, Rebecca has also worked with and trained Gypsy, Warmblood and Stock horses. Some of these amazing horses were trained for competition, while others were trained for their owners to campaign or enjoy at home.
Rebecca enjoys working with horses to make them the very best they can be. Her training program is based on the goals of each individual horse and owner.

Clinincs & Clinicians
The Equestrian arts is a lifelong endeavor, the moment you think you know it all just get on a different horse, or try a new test or discipline – there is always more to learn and improve.
Our approach is to understand your needs and work with you to support your goals. Having a harmonious environment in the barn is essential for us, and finding the right mix of trainers (Internal & external) is something we take seriously.
We have hosted single and multi-day clinics with external clinicians in the past and plan to continue to offer this to boarders, and potentially truck-ins if space is available.
Have questions – give us a call to discuss your needs and what we offer.
